Amsel Verlag Zürich was founded in 2012 by Milenko Lazic. The motivation to found a publishing house arose from the impossibility for an art student to publish anything. Since then Amsel Verlag has published regularly and has published over 45 publications in various formats. The name is based on the fact that there are a striking number of blackbirds in Zurich. Since Milenko Lazic defines himself primarily as an artist, Amsel Verlag could be viewed as a “Publishing as art practice” work. The majority of the authors at Amsel Verlag are artists such as Rada Leu, Baltensperger-Siepert, Severin Hofer, Vijay Sharma, Eirini Sourgiadaki, Mara Elsa, Raphael Perret and other outstanding people.
